General Data Protection Regulations – Information for Parents & Students

From 25 May 2018, new regulations come in to force in the UK, which affect how our academy handles people’s data. This is called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Compliance with the regulations will be an ongoing process and Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) has appointed a data protection officer to advise and manage compliance with the regulation across all of its academies.

We will be updating our policies and procedures to ensure they are compliant with the new GDPR regulations in the coming months. These will be added to our website. Staff are also undertaking GDPR training.

As your child’s place of education, we need to use information about you and your child. We do this for a number of reasons. The GDPR Privacy Notices for Parents and for Students tell you what information we use about you and our students and why we use it. It is very important to the Trust and Kingsmoor Academy that information about you and your child is kept safe.

We thank you for your patience whilst we take the necessary steps, as a result of the new legislation and guidance, with regards to our handling of data. You can find a copy of our draft GDPR Policy on our website under the About Us / Policies page.

Our Data Protection Officer contact is ATT’s Claire Pritchard. She may be contacted by email via the academy on KIN-Admin@attrust.org.uk.

Where data processing is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of the data subject, we will carry out an assessment of the impact of the data processing in accordance with the  ICO Privacy Impact Code of Conduct which can be found here.
