Melanie Scull (Chair of Governors)

My name is Melanie Scull.  I joined Kingsmoor Academy’s LAC in January 2016 and am now the Chair of Governors. I have worked in education for over twenty years and am passionate about children reaching their full potential. I have seen first-hand how the school has maintained it’s very high standard of education and looked after the well-being of the children. During my time as a governor at Kingsmoor, I have also been very privileged to have worked alongside past and current Governors who dedicate their spare time to help maintain these very high standards.

I am the Director of Flick Trick Sports and Co – Director of Changing Lives in Harlow. I have been teaching P.E  for 9 years and have gained valuable experience within all of the schools I have taught in. I also have an Early Years Degree. Working within the community I help young people with behavioural issues and encourage them into sport. My experience within sport and behaviour will add value to the school and benefit the children of Kingsmoor.

Sally Goodard (Community Governor)

My name is Sally Goodard and I am a community governor at Kingsmoor. I am Deputy Head at Kingsmoor’s main feeder secondary school, where 98% of the pupils from Kingsmoor transfer to, in order to continue their learning journey from primary to secondary.  I have had the privilege of working alongside teachers at Kingsmoor in both roles, to ensure the students have a smooth transition and a consistent approach towards teaching and learning opportunities.

Scott Bright (Community Governor)

My name is Scott Bright and I am a community governor at Kingsmoor. I am currently National Sales Manager for Samurai International Sportswear and have had many years experience of account management of club and school business in both family run and corporate organisations which I believe will give me great experience in the finances department and making sure the children of Kingsmoor get the teaching and learning aids they need to succeed.  I have lived in the area for 46 years and have 2 daughters at Kingsmoor, so I can give insight as a community member as well as a parent.

Danya Ashraf (Parent Governor)

My name is Danya Ashraf and I am a parent governor. I have been a parent at the school since 2015 when the eldest of my two children started at the school and have seen first-hand, the significance of the strong foundation gained at Kingsmoor in supporting pupils as they move on to secondary school. I focus on finance and report to the governors with that focus.

Angie Atkins (Staff Governor)

My name is Angie Atkins and I am a staff governor at Kingsmoor Academy having taken up the role again at the end of the last academic year. I am also an Assistant Principal. I came to Kingsmoor as an NQT over 14 years ago and I’m still here! I began as a Reception teacher for 5 years before moving into Year 1, then Year 4 and then Year 6 where I currently teach. I lead English and PE across the school. I love English and enjoy teaching all areas of English, as well as reading for pleasure. I focus on the Curriculum and provide input on this where necessary.

Helen Weaving (Parent Governor)
